A Melancholic Musical Homage to North Korean Female Soldiers

In this unheralded video we repeatedly see images of perfectly choreographed goose-stepping female soldiers marching in parade intercut with close-ups of other subtly smiling uniformed women, all set to a song by Charlatan Alley. According to the musician, he composed this song because he is tremendously saddened “to think of how all these beautiful women are relegated to a life of military precision in a communist dictatorship and will not have the opportunity to marry, have children and enjoy a normal life.” The reason for this, according to the musician, is that the “government of North Korea will use them as cannon fodder when the next war breaks out between the west and North Korea.”
